• Complete pre‑use checks of all equipment to ensure safety and fit for use, including daily RPE checks.
• Check that all aircraft components are in good condition and not showing signs of fatigue.
• Ensure all equipment is calibrated and identified appropriately.
• Load and unload the paint booths in a safe, controlled manner.
• Mix paint, lubricant, and varnish to customer specifications and internal procedures (SOP).
• Apply solvent‑ and water‑based primer and top‑coat paints, lubricants, and varnishes to complex parts.
• Inspect own quality of work, verify paint film thickness, and conduct tape tests following the quality management system and SOP.
• Complete all relevant documentation (job card, paint mix log, paint stores log) in line with SOP/work instruction requirements.
• Replenish paints, lubricants, and varnishes within the paint kitchen.
• Assist with PPMs and scheduled maintenance tasks such as changing paint filters.
• Verify parts against the job card and ensure processing follows customer specifications.
• Identify any failures with parts, complete NCR forms, and report to the line manager for rectification.
• Ensure that all processes and procedures are followed to achieve efficient, high‑quality results.
• Comply with relevant environmental, health, and safety legislation and company policies.
• Confirm that all prior operations are completed before commencing this operation.
• Other reasonable requests may be asked.

• Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Decorative Finishing and Industrial Painting Occupations or equivalent experience in applying primer and top coats.
• GCSE or equivalent, including Maths and English.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical capability to lift parts.
