QC Laboratory Technician

Location:

Bridgend (must live locally or have reliable transport)
Contract Type:
Temporary ongoing
Rate: £16.76 per hour

Hours:

12‑hour shifts (days & nights on a rotating pattern)

Position to start:
End of June/ Beginning of July

Our client is recruiting a additional QC Laboratory Technician to join their team, a well‑established manufacturing company in Bridgend. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop lab skills, gain technical experience, and progress in a quality‑focused role. No previous laboratory experience is required - full, structured training is provided over the first 3 months.

Key Responsibilities

As a QC Lab Technician, you will:

Carry out quality testing throughout the production process to ensure products meet specifications
Use pipettes and other laboratory equipment (full training provided)
Record data accurately and follow strict quality procedures
Identify and resolve basic quality issues such as out‑of‑spec results
Work closely with production and engineering teams
Support continuous improvement and maintain high-quality standard

You don't need to be an experienced lab technician - we welcome applicants from:

Manufacturing or production backgrounds
Science graduates (biology, chemistry, food science)
College leavers with science modules
Candidates looking to build a technical or quality‑based career

Shift Pattern

You'll begin with 4 weeks of day shifts:
Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 3.30pm

Then move onto a 4‑week rotating shift pattern:

Week 1:
Wed-Fri, 6pm-6.15am
Week 2:
Wed-Fri, 6am-6.15pm
Week 3:
Sun-Tues, 6pm-6.15am
Week 4:
Sun-Tues, 6am-6.15pm
