Company Description
Relief Security Officer – Bridgend location. 42 hours, 4 on/4 off. Pay: £14.50 per hour.

To provide security services at sites across a defined area as required. The Relief Security Officer will protect employees, property, and assets in line with Assignment Instructions and site requirements. You will deliver high levels of customer service while upholding integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness, adapting to different sites and environments. You will support operational requirements across multiple locations and shifts as needed.
NB:
The prospective Security Officer must have a full SIA licence before starting on operational shifts.
Responsibilities
You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. The Relief Security Officer will:
- Prevent unauthorised access and monitor CCTV, fire alarms, and intruder alarms.
- Conduct internal and external security patrols.
- Manage traffic control, parking restrictions, and site access.
- Carry out routine security equipment checks.
- Manage keys, locking/unlocking duties, and site equipment.
- Maintain accurate records, logbooks, and incident reports.
- Issue visitor and contractor passes and handle lost property.
- Provide security cover across static sites and retail park locations.
Health and Safety
- Support staff, visitors, and contractors while maintaining site safety.
- Follow health and safety procedures and report hazards, faults, and security concerns.
- Record and report accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Keep walkways and emergency escape routes clear.
- Monitor First Aid supplies and report any shortages.
- Promote a safe and secure environment through vigilance and professionalism.

What we’re looking for
We’re seeking someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:
- A valid SIA Licence.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable employment history (enhanced screening required).
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of access control systems.
- A valid UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle due to multiple site locations.
- Ability to travel to site within 45 minutes.
- A customer-focused approach with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to cover static sites and retail park locations.
- Computer literacy and ability to use basic IT systems.
