Position: Housing Solutions Adviser

Role Details

Hours: 37 hours per week

Position Type: 1 x Permanent

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated individual to help clients at risk of homelessness or living in unsuitable accommodation. We are seeking front line Housing Solutions Advisors to join a team that makes a difference and transforms lives.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake homeless assessments and process applications to the Authority's Common Housing Register.
  • Produce innovative solutions to prevent homelessness by keeping clients in their homes or finding alternative accommodation.
  • Manage complex and detailed casework, ensuring compliance with statutory duties of a local authority.
  • Build and manage own caseload to meet Bridgend's service standards, working under pressure and on own initiative.
  • Plan and prioritise work effectively and coordinate with partner agencies to reduce reliance on temporary accommodation.
  • Respond adaptively to changing circumstances and maintain a high quality housing service.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience in detailed homelessness prevention casework and knowledge of homelessness legislation.
  • Ability to make enquiries and legal decisions in line with statutory duties.
  • Strong problem solving, assertiveness, and sensitivity.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Adaptability and proactive response to changing situations.
  • Effective planning and prioritisation to deliver high quality service.
