As a team, we are passionate about achieving stable, loving, long-term homes for children and young people. We achieve this through the completion of high-quality assessments and the provision of comprehensive support packages for kinship carers, including whenever possible achieving permanence for children and their carers by attaining a Special Guardianship Order at the earliest opportunity.
We are seeking someone to join our team who shares our passion for kinship care and are suitably qualified, experienced and knowledgeable in completing well-evidenced and robust Connected Persons and Special Guardianship assessments and Support Plans, in accordance with the regulatory requirements and presenting them to Foster Panel and Court in a timely manner. Alongside completing assessments, the role will include providing support, advice and guidance to kinship carers as well as identifying training and learning opportunities and commissioning specialist services when needed.
We have dedicated reunification and placement support workers and a therapeutic service that sits within the fostering service that are easily accessible.
In this rewarding role you will be committed to and able to evidence your experience of working with kinship carers, children/young people and their families in a strength-based and compassionate way. As a Supervising Social Worker, you can expect to be working closely with Managers, other social work teams, legal department and liaising with other professionals such as education, health and housing.
A proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships in a multi-agency environment through excellent communication will support a successful application.
Your role will also include supporting the Kinship Team and fostering service in a wider context of undertaking Duty as part of a rota system and being part of our kinship service and fostering events that we hold throughout the year.
You will be encouraged to contribute to the development of the service through communication and consultation with kinship carers and the children and young people in their care on how they experience our service.
