Trainee Bus Driver

Overview

Join First Bus as a Trainee Bus Driver in Bridgend. You will receive full training from day one and progress to a qualified driver. The role pays £14.07 per hour while training, rising to £14.50 per hour once qualified, with overtime and shift allowances available.

This is a permanent, full‑time position with a 38‑hour week, guaranteed hours and structured rotas.

You will be trained to operate local bus services, providing safe, reliable, and professional transport for passengers travelling to work, education, healthcare, and leisure.

The role is customer‑facing, requiring safety, punctuality, and professionalism, and involves representing First Bus within the local area and delivering a consistent and dependable service.

• Full UK driving licence held for at least 6 months
• Maximum of 6 penalty points
• Minimum age 18
• Right to work in the UK
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Flexible approach to shift work
