SPANISH GED INSTRUCTOR - PART-TIME
ADULT LEARNING CENTER
4-DAYS A WEEK / 16-HOURS, 36-WEEKS
$45.00 PER HOUR
Job Summary:The Spanish GED Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in Spanish Language Arts to adult learners preparing for the GED exam. This role supports students in developing reading comprehension, writing, and critical thinking skills aligned with GED testing requirements. The instructor will create a supportive, culturally responsive classroom environment that meets the diverse needs of adult learners.
Key Responsibilities:- Instruction & Curriculum:
- Plan and deliver instruction in Spanish Language Arts aligned with GED standards.
- Develop lesson plans that incorporate reading, writing, grammar, and test‑taking strategies.
- Use a variety of instructional methods to accommodate different learning styles and literacy levels.
- Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
- Administer diagnostic assessments to determine student skill levels.
- Track student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning goals.
- Prepare students for the GED Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA) exam in Spanish.
- Classroom Environment:
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
- Encourage student participation, persistence, and confidence.
- Integrate culturally relevant materials and real‑world applications.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with student support staff to address barriers to learning.
- Participate in professional development and team meetings.
- Maintain accurate attendance and academic records.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, Literacy, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching certification or experience in adult education, ESL, or GED preparation.
- Adult Education Endorsement (107) – can apply upon hire.
- Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English.
- Strong knowledge of GED content standards, especially in Language Arts.
- Experience working with diverse, multilingual adult learners.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
