About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Academic Tutor to support students in grades K–8, primarily in reading and mathematics. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students succeed, strong communication skills, and the ability to tailor instruction to meet individual learning needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one‑on‑one and small group tutoring in reading and math for students in grades K–8.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to align tutoring with classroom instruction.
- Use student data to plan targeted lessons and interventions.
- Track student progress and make instructional adjustments as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of sessions, progress, and outcomes.
- Manage time effectively to meet the needs of multiple students.
- Reinforce classroom instruction and assist with homework or skill‑building activities.
- Communicate regularly with teachers and/or parents regarding student progress.
Education:
- Minimum requirement: 60 college credits.
- Bachelor’s degree in teaching or a related field preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in literacy or math preferred but not required.
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of K–8 reading and math standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students of varying skill levels.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction techniques.
- Ability to analyze data and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Strong organizational skills for managing records and schedules.
- Patience and adaptability in working with diverse learners.
- Flexible scheduling options available.
