Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Student Activities assists with an array of services to promote student activities, including research; serves as a resource to students and club advisors, affinity groups, student government and provides assistance to our Athletics Program regarding intramural and competitive sports or assists with coordinating the on-campus food pantry and emergency fund request process or assists with coordinating the on-campus food pantry and emergency fund request process.

Job Duties:

Under the direction of the Director of Student Activities, the Assistant Director of Student Activities is accountable for contributing to the operations of the Student Activities Office by the effective performance in these essential functional areas:

  • Assisting with research, planning, promotion and execution of student activities.
  • Assisting in the supervision of support staff, work study, and student labor employees.
  • Supporting and building relationships with student organizations/affinity groups and student athletes.
  • Overseeing and enhancing our online student activities presence.
  • Assisting with budget management as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor'sdegree in an appropriately related field with up to three (3) years of related office administration experience;or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.

Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following:

  • Student development.
  • Student relations and supervision.
  • Assisting with the operation of a department/division.
  • Planning and scheduling.

Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills along with strong

Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams etc.).

Salary:

$39.44 hourly
