ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR- MATH

Adult Learning CTR

Evenings, Monday-Thursday, 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm 12hrs a week/$45 an hour/32 weeks

• Works with individual students in devising sequences of educational experiences that may be expected to lead the students to achievement of their specified goals.
• Serves as a resource person to students pursuing individual learning programs.
• Meets regularly with students assigned for the purposes of counseling, encouraging and evaluating.
• Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for achieving stated objectives.
• Makes provision for being available to students for conferences outside the instructional day when requested to do so.
• Assists the administration in implementing all the policies and rules governing student life and conduct and for the classroom develops such procedures as are necessary for the success of the alternative education program.
• Attends staff meetings and maintains reports as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Connecticut state teacher certification with the endorsements:
  Mathematics 4-12 (029);
  Adult Education Endorsement (106) - can apply upon hire.
• Strong Literacy background preferred.
• Computer proficiency.
• Previous experience with alternative programs is an advantage.
• Previous experience with online course instruction.

* This position isin accordance with the Agreement between the Bridgeport Education Association (BEA) and the Bridgeport Board of Education. The salary will follow the contract and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
