The School of Health Professions in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Bridgeport (Bridgeport, CT) invites applications for an adjunct instructor in Health Sciences
with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Exercise Science, Nutrition, Public Health, Health Promotion, Wellness, or aclosely related health sciences discipline.

The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate instruction within the Health Sciences program and should have the education, professional experience, and/or relevant professional certifications necessary to teach college-level coursework in theirarea(s) of expertise.
Candidates with expertise across multiple areas of Health Sciences are strongly encouraged toapply.

This is an on-campus adjunct position based in Bridgeport,Connecticut. This position is not remote and is not a full-time position. The University does not provide relocation assistance forthis position.

• Teach undergraduate courses in areas such as biomechanics,fitness assessment, exercise science, physiology, nutrition, publichealth, health promotion, wellness, health sciences research,medical terminology, and other Health Sciences subjects asneeded.
• Under general supervision, develop, prepare, and teachcoursework within the Health Sciences program, including the areasof concentration and other areas aligned with the candidate'squalifications and professional expertise.
• Apply current, evidence-based knowledge and professional experience to classroom instruction and student learning.
• Support students in developing an understanding of health,wellness, disease prevention, physical activity, nutrition, andother factors affecting individual and population health.
• Support the mission of the department and college throughquality instruction, curriculum enhancement, professional development, and service to the college.

• Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
• Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends, research, and evidence-based practices in the candidate's area(s) of expertise.
• Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

• Demonstrated knowledge and application of current,evidence-based practices within the candidate's area(s) of expertise.
• Ability to communicate effectively with undergraduate students and contribute to a collaborative academic environment.
• Ability to teach across multiple areas of the Health Sciences curriculum is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion,and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity.

• Master's degree or higher in Exercise Science,Kinesiology, Health Sciences, Nutrition, Public Health, or aclosely related discipline.
• Demonstrated professional or academic expertise in at leasttwo areas relevant to the Health Sciences curriculum.
