Join the Georgia System Operations Corporation as a Transmission System Operator and oversee the real‑time operation of the high voltage transmission system (up to 500 kV). You will monitor system performance, adjust to changing conditions, and ensure compliance with NERC reliability standards.
Responsibilities- Operate the Energy Control System to detect overloads, maintain system stability, and provide real‑time data quality assurance.
- Plan, authorize, and control scheduled equipment operation, issue switching orders, and coordinate inter‑company resources.
- Authorize, schedule, and dispatch manpower for repairs, isolate failures, and restore power safely.
- Deliver presentations and reports to senior management on trends and activities that affect the company’s strategy.
- High school graduate; associate’s degree preferred.
- Six years of transmission operations or construction experience and two years control‑center experience.
- NERC certification (TO, BIT, or RC).
- AC/DC theory, blueprint reading, and Excel/Word proficiency.
- Strong decision‑making under stress and effective communication skills.
Work a rotating 12‑hour shift, including weekends and holidays; some vacation and sick‑leave coverage is required.
CompensationSalary: $104,900 – $131,200 per year.
