Duties
The Phlebotomist II is responsible for collecting venous and capillary blood specimens from patients in a safe and accurate manner according to established lab policies and practices. Responsibilities also include maintaining inventory, dispatch scheduling, and Epic registration. Demonstrates H3W behaviors with a focus on excellent patient experience, patience, and quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 1 year phlebotomy experience
- Knowledge of venipuncture techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
- Good keyboarding skills with ability to learn various laboratory applications and HHC computer systems
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to handle different patient populations including difficult patients
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to operate required lab equipment including pneumatic tube
