Synagogue Assistant - Student Rabbi; Part-time

SUMMARY

Providing spiritual and religious support to residents/patients during the Sabbath and major Jewish holidays.

Reports To:

Director, Pastoral Services

Titles Supervised: N/A

Hours Per Week:
Part-time, Every other Sabbath Holidays

• Assist in leading Synagogue services for Sabbath and major Jewish holidays.
• Conduct religious programming for Sabbath and major Jewish holidays for all residents/patients.
• Provide pastoral visits and counseling for residents/patients.
• Assist Director of Pastoral Services in providing the spiritual environment appropriate for Sabbath and Jewish holidays.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  Bachelor of Arts or Sciences
• Experience:
  
  At least 3 years of experience in Jewish communal service
• Licensure:
  Valid driver's license

Knowledge of Jewish practices related to Synagogue, dietary laws, and Jewish holidays; ability to read Hebrew; ability to communicate effectively including public speaking; ability to meet multiple demands and to perform job requirements on time.
