St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford Health Care network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.
Responsibilities
- Perform sterilization, instrument assembly, packaging, and case cart assembly.
- Decontaminate instruments and maintain thorough knowledge of instrumentation and equipment.
- Ensure efficient distribution of high quality sterile products meeting customer expectations.
- Work independently in the absence of the Shift Lead and collaborate with peri-operative services.
Qualifications
- Current "Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification" from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. (CBSPD) or a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM required.
- One (1) year experience in Sterile Processing Services preferred.
