• Under the direction of the Registered Nurse provides patient care, greets and escorts patients to the exam room.
• Under the direction of the physician and/or the registered nurse performs casting procedures and removes casts.
• Performs technical duties, fabricates and fits braces and splints according to protocol and physician order.
• Participates in educational activities that contribute to patient care, staff education and self development; completes all mandatory training within review year.
• Effectively contributes to the operational support of the clinic; reports faulty equipment and environmental problems to the Nurse Manager or designee.

High school diploma or GED;
Orthopaedic or Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Two (2) years of Orthopaedic and/or Ambulatory experience.

Orthopaedic Technician Certification preferable.

Must have knowledge of anatomy and skill in cast application.

Requires good manual dexterity; ability to use power equipment; assist with lifting patients, stand or walk most of work day and use good mechanics.
