The Construction Assistant will be responsible for supporting the CT Operations team in planning, executing, and overseeing the CT Road Division at SMC.

This is a full-time in-office position. Days and hours of work can fluctuate, work week runs Monday through Friday and hours are 40 hours per week in off-season and OT may be required during the season.

  • $25-$30/hr
  • Monday-Friday
  • Must be able to work in the core office hours of 8:00AM – 6:00PM
  • 40+ hours
  • Off Season (January – March ~8 hours / 40 Hours per week)
  • In Season (March – December ~10+ hours / 50+ Hours per week)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

CT Road Division
  • Assist in planning and coordinating all CT projects from inception to completion
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors
  • Working closely with Project Managers to coordinate ongoing projects.
  • Responsible for setting, maintaining and verifying quantities with DOT/contractors monthly
  • Assist in setting up crew schedules / plans for the week/day
  • Create work orders for road crews
  • Perform cost analysis of orders that come into operation after each shift for PM’s
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying any issues and proposing solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the project management process
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management preferred
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
