The Program Assistant is responsible for the provision of a wide range of administrative duties supporting the day-to-day function of the domestic violence programs. The position will support, and work in concert with the DV Manager, Intake Coordinator, group facilitators, and clients as needed.
This is a 40 hour per week, in-person position and is located in the greater Bridgeport, CT area. The starting rate for this position is $20/hr.
What you'll do- Sending communications via text message, letters, and/or phone calls to new clients entering programs
- Entering notes and data into the electronic records.
- Assisting the Manager and Intake Coordinator in managing the flow of clients in various programs: FVEP, Evolve and Explore.
- Conduct orientation and occasional intake assessments to clients entering assigned DV programs
- Maintaining physical files, creating files for new client intakes
- Adhering to best practices related to gender responsive and trauma informed strategies
- Reception/security area coverage as needed, and the overall front-line operations (about 20 hours a week.)
- Cultivating and maintaining professional relationships with the guests/clients and staff who enter the building
- Communicating accurately and swiftly to referral sources
- Special projects and other duties as assigned by the DV Manager/Director
- Excellent communication and organizational skills along with attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task and function well in a high-paced environment.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred
Education and Experience
- Experience with Data collection and submission required
- Experience with Excel, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Word and database portals required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an office setting providing customer services both virtual and in person required
- Minimum of associate’s degree or administrative training certificate preferred
Minimal Travel - as needed for training, seminars, program events, etc.
