American Traveler is hiring an experienced SICU RN for a short-term 10-week winter coverage assignment at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a CT or compact RN license.
Details- Surgical ICU (SICU) unit in a short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds
- Level II Trauma Center
- 3x12 Day shifts, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
- 10-week contract length
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required, including to Milford Campus
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active or compact RN license (CT state license required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of SICU experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, arterial and central line care
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patient care
- Experience with ETT and NT suctioning
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- One professional reference required
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill surgical patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions
- Participate in emergency response activities as needed, including natural disaster response
- Facility is part of a large academic health system with free parking available
- No holiday RTO permitted
- Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed during the assignment
- Local radius restrictions waived for this 10-week assignment
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
- First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements
