Registered Nurse; RN; Adult Psych

About This Role:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Adult Psych provides direct patient care to behavioral health patients, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about mental health and want to make a difference in patients' lives.

• Location: Bridgeport, CT
• Facility: St. Vincent’s Medical Center
• Schedule: PRN, Rotating shifts including weekends and holidays

• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments.
• Develop a nursing plan of care consistent with the master treatment plan.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals.
• Implement nursing plan of care for assigned patients.
• Conduct and/or co-lead group therapy sessions for patients.
• Evaluate patient's response to interventions and revise nursing plan as needed.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to revise goals and interventions.
• Identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-related needs of patients.
• Develop and document a comprehensive plan of nursing care with patients and families.
• Delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel as appropriate.

• Associate's Degree required, Bachelor Degree preferred

• Experience in an acute care psychiatric setting preferred

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health required
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross obtained within 60 days of hire
