Join the State of Connecticut, Department of Social Services (DSS), as a Connecticut Careers Trainee (CCT) with a target class of Eligibility Services Worker. This full‑time, one‑shift position is available in Bridgeport, Danbury, Hartford, Manchester, Middletown, New Bristol, New Haven, Norwich, Stamford, Torrington, Waterbury, or Windham, CT.

As a CCT, you will meet the experience and training requirements set for the target class of Eligibility Services Worker. Your duties include applying state and federal policies to determine eligibility for programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, financial assistance, convalescent care, and home care services.
Salary & Promotion- Eligibility for promotion to the target classification of Eligibility Services Worker is earned upon successful completion of the training program.
- Bachelor’s degree – one (1) year training program;
First-year salary:
Step 1 – $52,349. - Master’s degree – one (1) year training program;
First-year salary:
Step 2 – $54,243.

Minimum Qualifications- Must meet the experience and training requirements for the designated job class upon completion of the training program.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human services
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Strong communication skills (phone, email, Teams, in‑person)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and practice time management
- Experience providing customer service in a fast‑paced, person‑centered environment with a culturally diverse population
- Experience conducting interviews, gathering, and analyzing confidential information
