Overview
Driver/Operator – Bus Driver position in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The selected candidate will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for passengers while upholding professionalism and customer service standards.

- Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay Scale
- Starting pay $21.40 with progression to $29.19 over 4 years
- Start - $21.40
- 90 days - $21.72
- 1 year - $22.66
- 2 years - $23.44
- 3 years - $24.02
- 4 years - $29.19
- Full-time employees are entitled to vacation time according to the schedule below
- Vacation: up to 5 days per year
- After one full year of service: 5 days
- After two full years of service: 10 days
- After five full years of service: 15 days
- After ten full years of service: 20 days
- After twenty full years of service: 25 days
- Paid Sick Leave:
Eight (8) hours per sick/personal day for full-time employees; six (6) hours for part-time employees - Medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, and 401k retirement benefits
- 10 paid company holidays
- Safety-Focused Operations:
Follow designated routes and schedules, adhere to safety protocols and traffic regulations - Passenger Care:
Assist passengers, ensure smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation - Vehicle Vigilance:
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues, maintain cleanliness and safety equipment readiness - Adherence to Protocols:
Enforce seat belt use, maintain emergency preparedness, and comply with regulatory mandates - Other duties as required
- 21 years or older
- Valid CDL Class A or B with passenger and airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical where applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis
- Work outside in varying temperatures and conditions; 100% of the job is performed outside; may work alone and in remote locations
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances and on sloped or uneven surfaces
- Push/pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift up to 50 lbs; may bend, kneel, or crouch to access equipment
- Withstand heavy traffic areas; tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
