This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to care for diverse medical-surgical and telemetry patients while floating across several inpatient units. Located in the scenic Appalachian foothills, Bridgeport combines a welcoming community atmosphere with convenient access to outdoor recreation, local dining, and regional attractions.
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090–$2,200
- Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Assignment End Date: February 1, 2027
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, including Saturday and Sunday night shifts
- Holiday Requirement: Participation in the holiday rotation
- Orientation: 1–2 shifts with a preceptor
- Charting System: Epic
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure or eligibility to practice in West Virginia
- At least 1 year of acute-care nursing experience required
- Telemetry or medical-surgical nursing experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to successfully complete a cardiac rhythm examination
- Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac rhythms
- Comfort caring for patients with varying acuity while maintaining safe assignment limits
- Willingness to float among medical-surgical and telemetry units as assigned
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients in an acute-care setting.
- Float among multiple inpatient units, including medical-surgical and critical-care areas, while caring for patients within the RN's scope of practice.
- Monitor, assess, and document cardiac rhythms using Philips telemetry systems.
- Care for patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, cardiac catheterization recovery needs, pneumonia, COPD, chronic renal disease, orthopedic conditions, oncology diagnoses, and other complex medical concerns.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, and promptly communicate changes in condition.
- Collaborate with providers, nursing assistants, respiratory therapy, monitor technicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Care for patients receiving CPAP or BiPAP support in collaboration with respiratory therapy.
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit standards for quality, safety, and infection prevention.
- Participate in unit, weekend, and holiday scheduling requirements.
