Sky West Airlines, the largest independently owned regional airline in the United States, is seeking an experienced coordinator to manage heavy maintenance spares. The role supports Essential Maintenance Providers and the Heavy Maintenance Technical Representative Group to ensure timely parts acquisition and compliance with internal policies.
PrimaryJob Duties
- Support the Manager of Aircraft Spares at the base level.
- Understand and interpret company manuals, Chapter 4 (Aircraft Spares & Support) and Chapter 2 (Contract & Substantial Maintenance)‑related policies.
- Assist the Essential Maintenance Provider with interpretation and implementation of the Sky West GMM.
- Work closely with the Heavy Maintenance Technical Representative Group and the Essential Maintenance Provider.
- Communicate with the Essential Maintenance Provider Purchasing group for acquisition of parts/spares for Heavy Maintenance Program projects.
- Maintain professionalism during all interactions with Sky West and the Essential Maintenance Provider.
- Track and manage all “Canned” Aircraft Parts (transfer between C‑Check A/C’s) using Excel, perform necessary Sky Track functions.
- Report Canned Parts to Spares Department Supervisors and Management.
- Prepare for and attend daily Heavy Maintenance Spares meetings.
- Attend Pre‑draw meetings for incoming aircraft.
- Assist in planning and preparation of parts/spares for Heavy Maintenance Program projects.
- Ensure removed serialized components are returned to the Sky West Spares Department on time.
- Update the No‑Buy List and request purchases and expedites of parts as needed.
- Perform all other tasks assigned by the Manager of Spares.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Valid unrestricted state‑issued driver’s license.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Pass a background check.
- Experience as a Parts Clerk or similar industry role.
- Qualified Sky West Receiving Inspector or ability to obtain the certification.
- Good understanding of policies, procedures, and industry requirements for Essential Maintenance spares.
- Ability to work unsupervised and be a self‑starter.
- Strong teamwork, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Comfortable with various computer programs; proficient in Excel and spreadsheet maintenance.
- Ability to work effectively with on‑site Sky West Heavy MX Technical Representatives, Essential Maintenance Providers, and Spares Department.
- Willingness to travel as needed for Heavy Maintenance Spares support.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds routinely.
- Flexible schedule; may work holidays, mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Full‑time position, starting at $17 per hour.
- This is not a Department of Transportation safety‑sensitive position.
