Clinical Specialist - PACT Program - Full-Time (40 hours per week)
For over 60 years, The Guidance Center has been a primary mental health support agency, providing compassionate, professional care to individuals and families in Cumberland County, NJ. As a non‑profit organization, our dedicated team of professionals, including doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, works to diagnose and treat all types of mental illness.
Position OverviewAs a Clinical Specialist for the Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT), you will play a key role in the development and implementation of individualized recovery plans. You will collaborate closely with the PACT team and other service providers to ensure clients receive evidence‑based care that promotes recovery, stability, and community integration. Demonstrates competency in delivering Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Universal Substance Abuse Screening, effectively engaging individuals served through engagement, assessment, and intervention.
Responsibilities- Participate in daily team meetings and case reviews
- Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based approaches
- Provide emergency mental health assessments
- Consult with medical staff on client medication needs
- Deliver education and support to clients’ families and support systems
- Conduct regular assessment of client progress
- Coordinate with community providers and transport services
- Participate in on‑call rotation with PACT team members
- Contribute to ongoing quality‑improvement initiatives
- Master’s degree in a human services discipline (social work, psychology, or related field)
- Minimum 2 years of post‑bachelor’s experience in providing mental health services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness
- Knowledge of community resources and agencies (preferred)
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license with a clean five‑year driving record
- Willingness to work a flexible 40‑hour weekly schedule (preferred)
- Spanish speaking (preferred)
