About the Role
Exelon is seeking a Distribution Supervisor to lead craft personnel in the construction, operation, and maintenance of overhead and underground electric and gas facilities. The role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable completion of work while fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and high performance.
Primary PurposePlans, directs, coordinates, and supervises craft personnel engaged in the construction, operation and maintenance of company overhead electric and/or underground electric and/or gas facilities. Supervises resources to ensure safe, efficient, economical, and expeditious completion of work with high regard for customer satisfaction, promotes safety principles, aids training and development, and focuses on business goals and objectives.
Primary Duties- Plan, coordinate, and direct craft employees engaged in scheduled and emergent work activities, ensuring high levels of customer service and safety, reliability, and productivity.
- Provide leadership and development to the craft workforce; coach, evaluate performance, conduct reviews, and identify development opportunities.
- Coordinate emergency response to restore continuity of service (24‑hour on‑call responsibilities and varied work schedules as required).
- Work within departmental budgets, plan resource coverage, and execute work activities aligned with business plans.
- Promote a high‑performance culture and learning organization, respecting diversity and acting as change agent for initiatives.
- Direct craft employees in construction, operation, and maintenance activities, including preventive/corrective maintenance, new business, system reinforcement, and facility relocation within the assigned area.
- Implement labor strategies under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Maintain effective internal business controls, conduct safety audits, meetings, investigations, and performance reviews.
- Regular contact with leadership across Distribution System Operations, Construction & Maintenance, Transmission & Substation, Work Management, Engineering, Asset Management, New Business, union stewards, contractors, and municipal leaders.
- Direct Reports: 12–20;
Indirect Reports: none.
- 4‑7 years internal utility company experience (e.g., Com Ed, PECO) or equivalent external experience.
- 2‑3 years internal supervisory experience or acceptable rating on Supervisory Assessment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of operating and construction work practices.
- Leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety rules and ability to enforce safe work behavior.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Current operator qualification for all covered tasks in gas facilities.
- Extensive knowledge of collective bargaining agreement and related procedures.
- Ability to train personnel in work practices and use of line construction tools and equipment.
- Experience in construction, maintenance, and operation of overhead and/or underground electric distribution facilities.
- Annual salary: $98,400.00 – $ per year.
- Annual bonus: 15% for eligible positions.
