Position Details:

Position: Casual Patient Watch Security Guard

Site: South Shore Regional Hospital (Bridgewater), Queens General Hospital (Liverpool), Fisherman's Memorial Hospital (Lunenburg). A successful candidate must be able to travel between the three locations.

Hours: Hours may vary site to site (example Days, Nights, Rotating Shifts)

Payrate: $ 20.50/hour

Key responsibilities:

Provide continuous observation of assigned patients to ensure safety and prevent self-harm or injury.

Monitor and report any unusual behavior, incidents, or safety concerns to clinical and security staff.

Maintain a respectful and non-invasive presence while observing patients.

Work closely with healthcare professionals, following facility protocols and directions.

De-escalate situations calmly and appropriately using non-violent crisis intervention techniques.

Document observations and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to patient confidentiality regulations at all times.

Prerequisites:

Valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR Level C from CSA Approved provider.

English (oral and written) fluency is a must

Previous experience in security or a related field preferred.

Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.

Ability to stay alert and attentive for extended periods.

Ability to work in high-stress environments and remain composed under pressure.

Ability to stand or sit for long periods and respond quickly in emergency situations.

Legally authorized to work in Canada

Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) are pre-requisites of this position. Prior training certifications may be accepted on a case-by-case basis

Applicants lacking acceptable certifications can opt into Paladin's UOF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware:
The UOF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
