Spring 2026 Graduate Assistant - Procurement
Position Description
The Graduate Assistant (GA) will work 20 hours per week and receive up to 12 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 9 for spring and 3 for summer.
Overview
The Graduate Assistant shall assist and work with Procurement Services. This is a unique opportunity for graduate students interested in gaining valuable business management, accounting, and finance experience in a productive office setting.
Responsibilities
Assist with administrative projects as needed – Assignment examples include but are not limited to:
- Procurement card/Travel Card reconciliations
- Emails
- Assisting with reporting
- Additional duties as requested
Preferred Qualifications
Education Requirement
- Must be a matriculated graduate student at BSU , preferably with Accounting & Finance concentration.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience
- High degree of organizational skill and problem-solving ability; specifically the ability to work as self-starter.
- Resourcefulness in finding information and answers from within and outside the division without prompting or micromanagement.
- Respect for details; ability to execute accurately at a high level without excess supervision.
- Ability to prioritize/execute to achieve desired division and project goals with prudence and sense of urgency.
- Ability to apply common sense and critical thinking to carry out instructions and make decisions within scope of authority.
- Excellent telephone etiquette, communication and organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation; ability to interact well with the diverse segments of the Bridgewater State University community.
- Desire to learn and grow professionally.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive documents
- Desire to invest your passion and commitment to a vision you feel you can embrace and contribute to the growth of the university and your own success.
- Ability to foster growth and success within the division
Physical Demands
Ability to make occasional light inter-department deliveries across campus, typing, and filing.
