Sr Lead Application Engineer Business Development

Sr Lead Application Engineer for Business Development – Bridgewater, New Jersey. Full Time. This laboratory-based position is focused on meeting the technical needs of our flexible packaging customers with innovation and technology pipeline in conjunction with our Client team.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in flexible packaging, from formulation to application of adhesives and coatings.
• Work closely with Business Development and Product Development to meet the technical needs for markets within our flexible packaging industry.
• Connect with external stakeholders (suppliers, customers, research institutes) to support development initiatives.
• Propose and test ideas that support the proliferation of breakthrough technologies.
• Act as a recognized expert in industry trade associations; develop new-to-the-world data and white papers to promote the company's expertise externally.
• Establish and leverage external networks and partnerships (researchers, suppliers, OEMs, boards, industry groups).
• Develop and manage key innovation/application projects and stay informed on the latest flexible packaging technologies.
• Assist in running pilot-scale lamination and coating equipment to validate new ideas and scale up to customer sites.
• Conduct testing and lead market introductions of new products and technologies.

• 10+ years of flexible packaging industry experience in application engineering or product development.
• Experience with application methods and development.
• Willingness to travel 30-50% of the time.
• Technical Writing: ability to create clear, accurate, and well-structured documentation, manuals, and process guides for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Reporting: proficiency in compiling, analyzing, and presenting data-driven reports to support decision-making and performance tracking.
• Presenting: strong verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver technical presentations to internal stakeholders, clients, and cross-functional teams.
