Principal Geotechnical Engineer

A leading provider of ground investigation and geotechnical services is recruiting for this permanent role. You will join an experienced and enthusiastic team delivering cutting‑edge geotechnical and ground‑investigation solutions to a diverse range of clients across the Central Region (potentially including international projects).

Preferred Requirements:

• Actively participate in marketing efforts to develop and maintain existing and new business
• Support Project Managers in delivering projects on time and to budget, maintaining high standards of service and producing high‐quality reports
• Assist in managing the continued technical and professional development of staff, including task‑specific training and mentoring of junior colleagues
• Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals, represent the company at tender visits, and provide technical advice to clients
• Undertake a variety of site‑based tasks, including active construction sites and linear projects for roads and railways, with a minimum level of fitness required
• Demonstrable experience in a senior or principal‑level geotechnical engineering role
• Strong understanding of ground investigation techniques, geotechnical design principles, and relevant standards
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
• Excellent communication, report writing, and client‑facing skills
• Willingness and capability to undertake site work, including active construction environments and linear infrastructure projects
• A proactive, solution‑focused approach to engineering challenges

Preferred Qualifications:

• Qualified to degree level in a geotechnical discipline
• Completion of relevant health and safety training schemes, such as CSCS (Manager level), SMSTS, and CDM 2007 Regulations
• Full UK Driving Licence
