The Director of Advanced Analytics will be responsible to manage an analytics program which enables effective, data/analytics-driven decision-making. The Director of Advanced Analytics will be expected to direct the use of advanced analytical techniques utilizing a broad range of data assets to monitor demand shifts, measure performance, develop marketing mix models, and analyze customer/channel value models to optimize our investments, inform operational plans and predict market actions.

The incumbent will participate in the creation of an analytics-driven culture that drives top-line growth, controls costs, and takes timely corrective action to reduce risks that derail plans.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Director of Advanced Analytics will uncover insights in data that will enable Business Units to enhance the experience of our customers while generating incremental business, increased profitability and customer loyalty.
Understand and predict demand shifts and our customers’ behavior:

• Design and implement studies to answer business questions based on a broad range of data assets that capture and describe promotional activity from Sanofi, as well as those describing the behavior of our customers.

• Utilize expertise in univariate and multivariate techniques, including General and Generalized Linear Models, Structural Equation Modeling, various segmentation methodologies, etc.

• Conduct network analysis and influence mapping

Measure performance and program effectiveness via return-on-investment analysis, A/B testing:

• Design randomized controlled trials to measure the effectiveness of promotional activity with solid understanding of randomization, blocking, and stratification.

• Conduct post hoc measurements of program effectiveness using principles of cohort studies, and matched case-control studies.

Conduct portfolio, cross-channel and marketing mix optimization assessments:

• Assist in gaining insights into our financial and operational performance.

• Integrate digital and cross-channel analytics using a Sanofi data platform.

• Collaborate with consumer data analytics partner in direct to consumer analytics projects.

• Analyze customer/channel value models to optimize our investments,

Inform operational plans and predict market actions.

• Collaborate with key functions and Business Units to develop value-based segmentation and targeting of customers including payers, physicians and patients.

• Understand the concept of Customer Life Time Value, and execute corresponding studies using conditional probabilities and Markov-chains.

Position demands a ‘problem solving’ orientation. Must be able to develop innovative, resourceful solutions to complex, unstructured problems with minimal guidance.

• Coordinate and collaborate with PCUs, Pricing/Contracting Teams and CoE teams throughout process of generation of business questions and hypotheses to be tested.

• Work with stakeholders and partners to integrate, interpret and communicate analytic outputs with recommendations for best action.

• Be able to execute a large number of projects while working closely with our analytics partner, Mu Sigma.

Innovate through analytical thinking

• Proactively propose analytical solutions to business questions and problems and implement suggested methods.

• Provide concise analyses that go beyond a presentation of the facts to include a discussion of the associated business implications and recommended course of action.

Demonstrate strong business acumen, excellent communication skills and ability to succinctly express point view using both written and verbal communications.

• Be able to reason with information/data, deliver actionable recommendations to PCUs and other key stakeholders.

• Work transversally as needed.
