Job Description About the job you’re consideringWe are seeking an experienced POS Tester to join our QA team. This role requires deep expertise in Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, retail workflows, and software testing best practices. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands‑on experience with POS platforms, and the ability to define and execute comprehensive testing strategies in a fast‑paced retail environment.
Your role- Define testing objectives, scope, and strategy for POS systems.
- Develop detailed test plans and ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Execute test cases thoroughly according to the test plan.
- Track and manage defects throughout their lifecycle—from identification and reporting to resolution.
- Ensure timely closure of defects and maintain quality standards.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze test results and generate comprehensive reports.
- Provide clear insights on test coverage, defect trends, and resolution status.
- Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Work closely with development, business, and operations teams to ensure seamless testing and issue resolution.
- Participate in project meetings and provide QA updates.
- 10+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 4 years in POS testing.
- Strong understanding of retail operations and POS workflows.
- Hands‑on experience with POS systems such as Oracle Retail, NCR, Verifone, or similar.
- Proficiency in test management and defect tracking tools.
- Experience in:
- Test planning and writing test cases/scripts.
- Estimating test effort and preparing test schedules.
- Test execution and defect lifecycle management.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage time, multi‑task, and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation tools and scripting for POS testing.
- Exposure to mobile POS and self‑checkout systems.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $86,900 - $192,460.
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting.
