A growth-focused sciences organization is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architecture Consultant to guide enterprise-wide architecture decisions across business capabilities, applications, data, cloud, AI, integrations, and technology platforms.
This role will assess complex technology environments, define practical target-state architectures, and establish reusable standards that align technology investments with business priorities. The ideal candidate brings broad enterprise architecture expertise, direct life-sciences experience, and the ability to translate technical recommendations into clear business value.
Key Responsibilities- Develop business, application, data, and technology architecture artifacts.
- Assess current-state environments to identify technical debt, risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Define architecture strategies, points of view, target states, standards, and reference architectures.
- Evaluate architecture alternatives based on cost, risk, business impact, benefits, and tradeoffs.
- Support application portfolio management, technology lifecycle planning, and data governance.
- Present recommendations through architecture governance and formal review processes.
- Collaborate with Data, Analytics, AI, Integration, application, and solution teams.
- Communicate architecture direction and its business value to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- 15+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in Enterprise Architecture.
- Direct biopharma or life-sciences industry experience
, including familiarity with regulated environments. - Experience across Business, Application, Data, and Technology Architecture.
- Expertise in business capability modeling, process modeling, and maturity assessments.
- Experience developing data strategies and data architectures.
- Broad knowledge of cloud, data, AI/ML, integrations, and enterprise platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with current-state assessments, target-state architectures, and reference architectures.
- Experience supporting architecture governance and review processes.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
- Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- Familiarity with TOGAF, Zachman, or comparable Enterprise Architecture methodologies.
- Experience with Archi Mate, BPMN, or CSDM.
- Experience using Enterprise Architecture modeling or repository tools.
- Experience establishing or maturing an Enterprise Architecture practice or Architecture Review Board.
