Application Support Analyst (C) – ESG
Join ESG as an Application Support Analyst. This full‑time, hybrid role in Chorley involves installing, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting the Retail Suite of ESG applications across Private Cloud and AWS hosting environments.

SummaryWe are an innovative software & services company serving the utility sector. The Application Support team provides first‑ and second‑line assistance, incident resolution, system monitoring, application deployment, and collaboration with infrastructure and product development teams.
Position Responsibilities- Provide first‑line and second‑line helpdesk support to customers.
- Monitor service levels and resolve issues via monitoring tools and reports.
- Complete incident reports after resolution.
- Install, configure, and update applications in production and test environments.
- Deploy and configure applications on Windows VMs via RDP and on AWS via Argo.
- Investigate complex issues with Infrastructure, Network, and Product Development teams.
- Document incidents, problems, resolutions, and best practices.
- Champion changes through project roadmaps and the Change Advisory Board.
- Analyse systems for feasibility, timing, and process improvements.
- Follow procedures and seek assistance when guidelines are inadequate.
- Assist in the implementation of new and amended solutions.
- Report progress and participate in progress meetings.
- Engage in configuration and change management processes.
- Participate in quality assurance and control activities.
- Contribute to project planning by estimating effort and timing.

- Deployment experience of Java applications using Apache Tomcat.
- Customer support via helpdesk.
- Interrogation of Microsoft SQL databases for incident resolution and reporting.
- Experience with system monitoring solutions.
- Strong problem‑solving and organisational skills.
- Attention to technical detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication with technical and non‑technical personnel.
- Powershell scripting.
- SQL scripting.
- AWS foundational knowledge.
- Argo.
- ITIL Foundation.
- ITIL OSA.
- Follow IMS policies.
- Reporting of incidents.
- ISO responsibilities.
- ISO staff awareness.
