Quantity Surveyor

Overview

A well-established RC Frame and Groundworks subcontractor is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting two major projects in Somerset. The role requires site presence a minimum of 2 days per week, with the remainder office-based or flexible.

• Large £60m+ project, part of a bigger team.
• £5m package, commercial lead role.

Reporting into Commercial Director, responsibilities include:

• Preparing and reviewing valuations, interim payments, and final accounts.
• Managing subcontractor agreements, procurement, and variation orders.
• Supporting site teams with budget control, cost tracking, and commercial advice.
• Assisting with cost planning, forecasting, and reporting across live projects.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation.
• Acting as commercial lead on the £5m package, liaising directly with site teams, project managers, and clients.

• Minimum of 4 years experience in Groundworks/RC Frame projects with reputable subcontractor.
• Confident preparing valuations, managing variations, and providing commercial input.
• Happy to spend at least 2 days per week on site in Somerset.
• Commercially aware, proactive, and capable of leading smaller packages independently.
• Able to integrate with larger teams on high-value projects (£60m+).
