General Foreman

Abatec is recruiting for an experienced General Foreman to support the successful delivery of civil engineering projects across the South West region. This is a permanent, full-time position offering the opportunity to play a key role in maintaining high standards across multiple schemes, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to a high level of quality.
This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with site teams to ensure efficient project delivery while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and community engagement. The role will involve travel to various sites across the Somerset/North Somerset, including framework-based and standalone projects.
As General Foreman you will:
 
* Oversee daily site operations, supervising workforce and subcontractors to maintain productivity and performance
 
* Support the Site Manager and Project Manager, stepping in to lead where required
 
* Promote and maintain a strong health & safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safe systems of work
 
* Drive a right-first-time approach, ensuring quality standards are met and works are completed in line with specifications
 
* Assist with planning and coordination of labour, plant, and materials to meet programme requirements
 
* Monitor progress across multiple work streams, helping ensure projects remain on track
Our client requires a General Foreman with:
 
* Proven experience as a General Foreman or Site Supervisor delivering civils and highways works.
 
* Proven experience supervising multiple work streams and maintaining consistent standards across sites.
 
* SMSTS or SSSTS
 
* CSCS Card
 
* First Aid at Work
 
* TWS/TWC & NRSWA (desirable)
Salary/Benefits:
 * £47,000 - £57,000 per annum
 
* Company vehicle/car allowance
