Altrad are seeking a technically capable and experienced Quality Inspector QC HVAC to support the delivery of mechanical and HVAC construction activities within the MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point
C.
This role will be based on site at Hinkley Point C on a permanent basis and will offer the opportunity to work on a major nuclear new-build project within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment. Working as part of an integrated alliance delivery team, you will support the Building Lead with construction planning, engineering, work pack delivery and progression across allocated buildings, while ensuring compliance with project requirements, nuclear safety standards and company procedures.
The role will involve close collaboration with Building Engineers, subject matter experts, client representatives and multidisciplinary construction teams to ensure works are safely, efficiently and effectively delivered.
- Support the Building Lead in the day-to-day construction planning, engineering and progression of works within allocated buildings.
- Deliver discipline-specific Construction Work Pack scopes to support MEH construction activities.
- Define and maintain clear boundaries for allocated scopes of work.
- Liaise with relevant SMEs, client counterparts and multidisciplinary teams to support effective delivery.
- Engage with the constructability of works within allocated buildings, working with Building Engineers where required to facilitate efficient sequencing and installation.
- Manage project change within allocated buildings, ensuring the project change process is adhered to, including construction documentation and scope changes in coordination with the Building Lead.
- Ensure documents remain compliant with the latest Works Information and relevant MEH documentation.
- Ensure documents are kept up to date and reviewed at a minimum every six months.
- Take ownership and drive deliverables from conception through to A-Accepted status, targeting greater than 90% first-time acceptance.
- Prioritise and manage documentation to enable construction works in accordance with the Level 4 plan, including ensuring documentation is accepted at least three months prior to planned works where required.
- Support continuous improvement programmes to improve processes and procedures.
- Report directly to the Building Manager or nominated deputy.
- Manage and maintain Procon reporting data for allocated buildings.
- Provide positive HSE leadership and contribute to a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the construction lifecycle of the project.
- Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements.
- Review and provide feedback on the suitability and level of resource required to effectively operate the support function.
- Relevant degree in Construction, HVAC Engineering or a related discipline; or
- HNC in a relevant construction discipline or HVAC engineering, combined with extensive experience working in a similar role; or
- 10 years' experience in a site management role.
- IOSH Managing Safely preferred.
- CCNSG Safety Passport.
- Professional accreditation desirable.
- Proven experience in safely delivering large-scale construction or engineering projects, including experience working at a management level of authority.
- Experience with in the heavy industry or nuclear sectors is beneficial.
- Experience working within Joint Venture environments is advantageous.
