Overview

University Centre Somerset (UCS) College Group Bridgwater College are looking for an outstanding individual with experience to join our delivery team. You will need to be a motivated and enthusiastic professional, proactive, student-centred and able to provide expertise to further enhance teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum development. This role is to support UCS College Group, Bridgwater College in meeting local and national workforce requirements for current and future civils projects such as Hinkley Point C power station.

We welcome applications from individuals without educational sector experience as support and training will be given to the successful candidate. Existing training or educational sector experience would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be based at Bridgwater College, which hosts the Welding Centre of Excellence focusing on teaching, learning and assessment for the welding industry, including development, quality and testing of welding skills to meet employer on-site requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise to enhance teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum development
  • Contribute to the development and quality testing of welding skills to meet employer on-site requirements
  • Support delivery at Bridgwater College and contribute to the welding centre’s activities
  • Engage with local and national workforce requirements and civils project needs
  • Be proactive, student-centred and professional in delivery and assessment
Qualifications and attributes
  • Experience in delivery roles with a proactive, student-centred approach
  • Motivated and enthusiastic professional
  • Willingness to undertake training; existing educational sector experience is advantageous
  • Ability to work at Bridgwater College and engage with welding-related curriculum and employer needs
