Teacher Active is proud to be working with a specialist education setting in Bridgwater to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant. The setting provides a therapeutic learning environment for pupils aged 5-18 with Autism, Anxiety and associated needs, with a vision of helping every student reconnect with learning, rebuild their confidence and develop the skills needed to lead safe, independent lives as active members of their community.

The setting is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support students both in the classroom and on a 1:1 or small group basis, working closely with teaching staff and therapy specialists to promote engagement, independence and positive outcomes while helping pupils achieve their full potential through a therapeutic curriculum.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly Autism and associated needs

• A caring, patient and resilient approach to supporting pupils with additional needs

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

• A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to get stuck in

• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to succeed
