About The Role Join Balfour Beatty and help shape the future of UK infrastructure. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Regional Civils team working on the prestigious Apollo Substation Project in Bridgwater. This is a fantastic chance to play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure that supports the nation’s energy network. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll lead the commercial management of a high-profile civils project, ensuring value, efficiency, and quality at every stage.

You’ll oversee cost control, subcontractor management, and forecasting while supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team.

• Manage all commercial aspects of the project, from procurement through to final accounts
• Drive value for money while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
• Provide accurate cost forecasting, reporting, and risk management
• Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure smooth financial and operational delivery
• Mentor and support less experienced team members in their professional development.

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, M&E, Power or any infrastructure projects
• Strong commercial acumen and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Chartered (RICS, ICES, or CIOB) or working towards professional accreditation
• Hands-on experience managing civils projects — ideally within the energy or utilities sector.
