Job Description

This role offers hybrid working, requiring candidates within commuting distance of Bridgwater or open to relocation support.  You will oversee pressure systems compliance and structural integrity across defined project scopes and act as the technical authority, supporting delivery, safety case alignment, and regulatory engagement.

Ensure pressure systems compliance requirements are defined, maintained, and implemented effectively  Support structural integrity safety case development across allocated project scope  Make technical decisions on compliance issues, escalating where necessary appropriately  Interface with project managers, regulators, and supply chain partners regularly  Ensure policies, processes, and contracts meet compliance and quality requirements  Support delivery of pressure equipment manufacture, installation, and conformity activities  Act as single point of contact for pressure compliance within scope  Provide technical guidance and coaching to internal teams and suppliers  Monitor third-party delivery to ensure compliance with project expectations  Support wider project needs based on experience and business requirements

Nuclear experience is not essential, but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment, your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline  Knowledge of pressure systems regulations and structural integrity requirements  

Experience with RCC-M or ASME pressure equipment design codes  Background in power generation, nuclear, oil and gas, or petrochemical sectors  Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments  Understanding of conformity assessment, manufacturing, and installation processes  Ability to make technical decisions and manage compliance responsibilities  Experience engaging with regulators and supply chain stakeholders  Working knowledge of UK regulatory requirements is advantageous  Chartered status or working towards chartership with relevant institution
