Quality Engineer
Supports the Quality Management Lead (QML) in ensuring project quality requirements are met across the full HPC project lifecycle. Provides implementation and monitoring support and does not hold accountability for final quality decisions, which remain with the QML.
Primary Responsibilities- Support the development of quality (QA/QC) arrangements for deployment across the HPC organization.
- Implement key quality arrangements related to PQCPs and CQAPs.
- Support manufacturing surveillance and inspections.
- Assist with NCR management and close out.
- Support quality reporting and metrics.
- Experience in project delivery, preferably in nuclear power, with a solid understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control in major projects across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning.
- Proven experience working on HPC and strong understanding of quality assurance, compliance, and governance in the nuclear industry.
- Experience interfacing with project teams and supply chain organizations.
- Analytical skills: preparing reports and making recommendations.
- Pro‑active and flexible, able to plan and work on own initiative.
- English language proficiency (spoken and written).
- Highly experienced Quality Engineer, operating at a senior level with capability and ambition to progress into a Quality Manager Lead role.
- A HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification.
- Proven track record of delivering results.
- Knowledge of the nuclear sector, ideally new build, and nuclear site license conditions.
- Ability to speak French is advantageous.
- Knowledge of pressure and nuclear codes.
- Knowledge of Welding, Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT), and Non‑Destructive Evaluation (NDE).
- Professional accreditation or membership of the Chartered Quality Institute / Chartered Quality Professional.
- Knowledge of improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques such as Lean Six Sigma.
