Job Description
Senior Building Surveyor – Estates Service (National role). The post primarily supports the Residential Estate, with additional responsibilities across the Commercial Estate, providing expert advice on building‑related matters and contributing to continuous improvement within the service.
Responsibilities- Deliver specialist building survey advice across a nationally significant property portfolio.
- Support incident response and business continuity activities when required.
- Mentor and coach colleagues to develop professional skills and progress toward chartered status.
- Share up‑to‑date knowledge, legislation and best practice to support colleagues.
- Collaborate on flood‑risk capital projects and related programme delivery.
- Fully qualified as a chartered surveyor on the RICS Building Surveyor pathway (MRICS/FRICS).
- Full and valid UK driving licence.
- Proven experience in building surveying, with a portfolio of complex cases.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation and time‑management skills.
- Ability to make pragmatic, reasoned decisions based on sound analysis.
Full allowance of £4,750, increasing the monthly salary to £59,690 pro‑rata. Standard flexible working arrangements are available – compressed hours, job sharing, and other flexible options. The role requires travel across the UK; a vehicle will be provided.
