Maintenance Engineer

Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer (either bias) – Bridgwater, Somerset

£61,376. Overtime paid at 1.5x basic salary. Shift pattern: 4 on, 4 off, 12‑hour shifts days and nights, 24/7, average of 42 hours per week.

You will be an integral part of the maintenance team, ensuring the factory runs at its highest capacity. You will support both planned and reactive maintenance work across a wide range of state‑of‑the‑art equipment – pallet wrappers, shrink wrappers, conveyors, check weighers, palletizers, packaging machinery, processing systems, specialist food processing machinery, silos, pumps, pipework, and more.

• Work closely with the Engineering Team Leader to deliver high‑quality engineering service.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, basic control and instrumentation faults rapidly.
• Complete a full range of maintenance activities across your asset base.
• Continuously improve performance to achieve site efficiency and standards.
• Take part in factory improvement projects.

We are looking for an experienced maintenance engineer with a multi‑skilled engineering background (either biased). You must hold a minimum L3 qualification in an engineering discipline or be time‑served. Candidates from an FMCG/food background will be highly desirable, but we will consider other backgrounds. Ex‑military applicants are welcome.

• Accurate, detail‑oriented work
• Experience with processing equipment: pipework, pumps, silos, turning equipment
• Skillset: fault finding in panels, sensors, relays, inverters, drives, motors, pumps, pneumatics, and pipework.
