Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to support the delivery of complex and high-value projects within the Nuclear and Energy sectors
. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate cost control, forecasting, and reporting across defined project scopes, working closely with Project Controls Managers, planners, commercial teams, and Work Package Managers
.

    Bridgewater (Somerset)
  • On Site: 3- 4 Days
  • Clearance: BPSS
  • Experience Level: 4- 10

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update project budgets, forecasts, and commitments
  • Track and validate actual costs, accruals, and variances
  • Support change control processes and assess cost impacts
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, dashboards, and sponsor reporting
  • Collaborate with Work Package Managers to compile Monthly Project Reviews (MPRs)
  • Provide analysis to support KPIs, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of cost systems, tools, and processes
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders to ensure cost data integrity and alignment with schedules
Qualifications Required Skills
  • 4–10 years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or a related discipline
  • Proven knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and change management
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power Query, and data analysis tools
  • Experience in large, complex projects ideally within infrastructure, energy, or nuclear sectors
  • Familiarity with ERP/project controls software (e.g., SAP, Eco Sys, Primavera)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Project Management
    , or equivalent
    military experience.
Desirable Skills


  • Experience with NEC contracts (Option

    C)
    and associated reporting
  • Knowledge of commercial processes (NEC/FIDIC)
  • Formal training in cost control, estimating, or forecasting
  • Progress toward professional accreditation (RICS, APM, CICES, PMI, or similar)
