Bilfinger UK is seeking an NDT Technician to join its expanding inspection operations at the Hinkley Point C nuclear new build project in Bridgwater, UK. Operating on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, the technician carries out surface and volumetric non-destructive evaluations, reviews peer inspection reports, enforces HSEQ protocols, and mentors apprentices.

Position Summary:

Bilfinger UK is seeking an NDT Technician to join its expanding inspection operations at the Hinkley Point C nuclear new build project in Bridgwater, UK. Operating on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, the technician carries out surface and volumetric non-destructive evaluations, reviews peer inspection reports, enforces HSEQ protocols, and mentors apprentices.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform surface and volumetric NDT methods (RT, MPI, DPI) on site pipework, pressure vessels, tanks, and structural steel assemblies.
  • Evaluate and document non-destructive testing indications in strict alignment with nuclear site procedures and industry codes.
  • Peer-review technical inspection reports, radiographs, and evaluation data compiled by team members.
  • Draft detailed, concise inspection technique sheets and procedural documentation.
  • Perform and log mandatory daily pre-use equipment checks, calibrations, and safety inspections.
  • Execute Point-of-Work Risk Assessments (POWRA) and maintain strict compliance with corporate and nuclear site HSEQ standards.
  • Mentor and train entry-level NDT technicians and apprentices on-site.
Qualifications Requirements:
  • Valid PCN Level 2 or equivalent ISO 9712 certifications in Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI).
  • Demonstrated experience performing non-destructive weld testing in new build or heavy construction site environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional PCN Level 2 certifications in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Visual Testing (VT), or PCN Accelerated Radiation Safety (ARS).
  • Working knowledge of the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR
    17).
