** We are currently seeking a
** HSE Advisor
** to join our team in
** Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater
** to play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of personnel, protecting the environment, and maintaining compliance with rigorous regulatory standards. This position requires a strong understanding of both general and nuclear-specific HSE risks, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
** What will you be doing?
*** Advise management and operational teams to ensure all activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
* Support interactions with regulatory authorities during inspections, audits, and reporting.
* Conduct regular risk assessments to identify radiological, chemical, biological, and conventional hazards in the workplace.
* Recommend and help implement effective control measures to mitigate identified risks, ensuring the safety of employees and the public.
* Support the implementation and monitoring of permit-to-work systems for high-risk activities.
* Assist in the immediate response to HSE incidents, including containment, notification, and initial investigation.
* Participate in or lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
* Help disseminate lessons learned from incidents to prevent recurrence.
* Develop and deliver HSE training and induction programs for employees and contractors as required.
* Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety tours to monitor compliance with HSE standards and identify unsafe conditions or behaviours.
* Support environmental monitoring programs
* Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of risk assessments, incidents, training, inspections, and regulatory submissions.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of HSE procedures, policies, and manuals.
* Contribute to the development, review, and testing of emergency response plans.
* Participate in organising and evaluating emergency drills to ensure readiness.
* Track HSE performance indicators, analyse trends, and recommend improvements.
* Stay up to date with national and international HSE regulations and standards relevant to nuclear operations
* Stay informed of industry best practices and support their implementation within the organisation.
