Finance Specialist

Here at GXO, we’re looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our Infrastructure Finance team, supporting Wincanton’s prestigious EDF contract across our distribution sites. This is a varied and demanding role, central to the successful delivery of supply chain services into the Hinkley Point C build programme
, a project helping Britain achieve Net Zero.

This is a full‑time permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00 with a requirement to work from either our Bridgwater, Bristol or Weston‑Super‑Mare office 4 days per week. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary of £30,000
, depending on experience and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme.

• Prepare monthly financial reports to support accurate and timely customer invoicing
• Support month‑end processes, including journals, reconciliations, and closing activities
• Maintain and reconcile ledger accounts, ensuring strong financial controls and accuracy
• Produce KPI and non‑financial reporting to support operational and contractual performance
• Work closely with operational teams and stakeholders, providing finance support and insight

• Experience working in a finance role within a high‑volume, complex environment
• Currently studying or planning to study towards AAT, CIMA, or ACCA
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to question data and dig beneath the numbers
• Confidence working with finance systems/ERP software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• A collaborative, proactive mindset with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
