Major UK Construction Project | Permanent Opportunity

Our client is delivering a major, high-profile industrial project in the Southwest, forming a key part of the UK's green industrial transformation.

The first phase involves the design and construction of a landmark manufacturing facility, including extensive infrastructure and ancillary buildings. Once operational, the site will be one of the largest production facilities of its kind in the UK.

Our client is now looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager (Project Controls) to join their senior commercial team.

The Role - Commercial Manager (Project Controls)

This is a senior position within the commercial function, working closely with the Project Controls and leadership teams. You will play a key role in protecting commercial performance while supporting delivery of a complex, high-value project.

Key responsibilities
  • Full commercial management of major work packages.
  • Procurement, tendering and contract administration.
  • Negotiation and agreement of compensation events (NEC).
  • Managing subcontract accounts through to final account.
  • Resolving payment issues and disallowed costs.
  • Deputising for the Project Commercial Director when required.
  • Risk management, cost control and value optimisation.
  • Maintaining strong client relationships in a live project environment.
About You
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager on major construction projects.
  • Strong NEC contract knowledge (essential).
  • Background in CM or PM contracting environments.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with a focus on profit, cash and risk.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar.
  • Track record working for a main contractor on large-scale projects.
Why Apply?

This is a rare opportunity to be involved in a nationally significant, future-focused project with long‑term prospects and genuine career development. You'll be joining a project that offers scale, complexity and the chance to make a real impact within the UK's green infrastructure sector.
