About the RoleIn this hands‑on role, you’ll manufacture, repair, and maintain tooling to tight tolerances, ensuring all tools are produced to exacting standards and delivered on time. Your craftsmanship will directly support production agility—helping us respond quickly to new orders, custom designs, and changing business needs.
You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to guarantee equipment reliability and safe operation across the site. This role can be undertaken either on a day shift (08:00–16:30) or on a rotating shift pattern (06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00).
Tasks and Responsibilities- Manufacture and refurbish high‑precision, low‑tolerance tooling to technical drawings using manual and CNC workshop equipment, including XYZ Pro Trak machines.
- Collaborate with design teams to interpret engineering drawings and develop new tooling solutions that support evolving products, machinery, and processes.
- Provide timely, creative engineering solutions to manufacturing challenges and propose innovations to improve tooling and production processes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment through proactive housekeeping and strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide support to maintenance team activities when requested.
- Contribute to Manufacturing Excellence and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Support process optimisation and operational efficiency.
- Assist in developing colleagues, including mentoring apprentices and sharing technical expertise across teams.
- Apprentice‑trained engineering qualification or equivalent technical certification.
- Proven experience in precision machining, tool design, and fabrication.
- Skilled in high‑precision, low‑tolerance toolmaking.
- Experience with CNC and manual machining, particularly on XYZ Pro Trak machines.
- Manual & CNC milling and turning (with emphasis on XYZ Pro Trak desirable).
- High attention to detail and ability to work to extremely tight tolerances.
- Strong task prioritisation and time management skills.
- Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
- Clear communication and ability to collaborate across functions.

- Occasional UK travel may be required
